Why do standard seals often fail with modern cooling lubricants (KSS)?

Modern cooling lubricants contain additives that chemically attack conventional elastomers (such as standard NBR) and cause them to swell. Kofler - Dichtungen utilizes specially developed H-PU, EPDM, or FKM compounds that are immune to these "aggressive" media.

Can seals increase the precision of my machine tool?

Yes. By using low-friction materials (PTFE/graphite compounds), heat generation at the sealing point is minimized. Less heat leads to less thermal expansion of the spindle or guide rail, which directly improves dimensional accuracy and precision.
